National energy firm recognized during award program’s most competitive year to date
Edison, NJ, November 3, 2021 – CS Energy, a leading integrated energy firm that designs and builds optimized projects in the solar, storage and emerging energy industries, has been named a finalist in the Cleanie Awards, a leading annual awards program that recognizes innovators and those making an impact in cleantech. The awards program witnessed a nearly triple digit increase in the number of submissions in 2021, as this year’s finalists were selected during the program’s most competitive year on record.
CS Energy is a finalist in three award categories: Project of the Year, Woman of the Year and Rising Star. “We’re thrilled that two dedicated and talented members of our leadership team, as well as our work executed on the Ben Moreell Solar Farm project, which supports the U.S. Navy’s energy resilience initiative, were recognized by the Cleanie Award Program’s esteemed Judging Panel,” said Matthew Skidmore, CEO of CS Energy. “Our stellar employees are, and always have been, our greatest asset and we would not have been able to achieve our best year on record, a tripling of our energy storage business, nor any of our other recent achievements without our incredible team members.”
CS Energy was selected as a finalist for the Project of the Year category due to its exceptional work on the 28.5 MW Ben Moreell Solar Farm project, one of the largest solar projects completed in New Jersey to date. This project contributes to both New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan as well as provides greater energy resiliency to the U.S. Navy and the country as a whole. CS Energy’s careful coordination, pre-planning of the site, and self-perform crews and electricians enabled the project to be constructed in the record time of just 23 weeks – all while complying with heightened military regulations.
CS Energy’s Vice President of Business Development, Kevin Magayah, was named a finalist in the Rising Star category due in part to the fact that he has championed over 600 MW of solar energy systems for over 85 projects across the US and internationally, including CS Energy’s first international solar project in Israel. Throughout his 16-year engineering, procurement and construction career, Kevin has led the clean energy economy through the rapid deployment of high quality energy projects, landfill solar installations, utility and community solar projects. Kevin also led CS Energy to achieve the company’s best year on record in 2020, despite the pandemic.
Diana Palazzi Mery, CS Energy’s EVP of Accounting and Finance, was named a finalist in the Woman of the Year category as a result of her founding and leading the firm’s first-of-its kind female mentorship program, CS Energy WiRE, as well as the firm’s Accounting and Finance department. The first woman on CS Energy’s executive team, Diana helped launch CS Energy WiRE in the spring of 2020, despite the obstacles of the global pandemic. From an external Town Hall, where CS Energy leadership joined forces with the National Girls Collaborative Project, to internal and industry-wide networking events, to setting and tracking public diversity hiring goals for the firm, Diana has helped foster greater diversity, equity and inclusion in clean energy as well as more productive staff dedicated to the proliferation of renewable energy.
As the leading cleantech awards program, the Cleanie Awards receives nominations for outstanding individuals as well as projects across a range of categories every year. All category winners are selected by the program’s distinguished Judging Panel and will be announced during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, November 16th at 1 pm EST.
