Conti performed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for two adjacent arrays consisting of 1.3 MW DC and interconnecting at 13.8 kV. Conti worked with Greenwood Energy to manage different aspects of the project including construction, grid interconnection, utility coordination and state, county and township approval.
Construction activities consisted of clearing and grubbing four acres on the East array. Both West and East arrays required site grading and boulder reallocation. Dewatering was installed to redirect water from the site and allow for construction of underground trenching within the East array.
Conti installed over 3,800 photovoltaic (PV) modules on RBI Solar’s post-driven racking system and two Solectria 500 kW central inverters. Conti worked closely with Greenwood Energy and the local officials to construct the array in accordance with inspector’s needs while also meeting the difficult schedule demands of the project.
Once construction was complete, Conti tied the PV system into the existing National Grid distribution system. Greenwood Energy will own and operate the array for 20 to 25 years and will sell power to the towns of Norton and Stoughton through a net metering purchase agreement.
Conti constructed the array in accordance with unique local requirements while meeting the difficult schedule demands of the project.
