CS Energy constructed this 2.3 MW DC project around wetlands and very challenging site conditions. After land clearing and grading had been completed, traversing the terrain proved to be difficult and time consuming. On a site primarily covered with rocks and boulders, CS Energy installed the TerraSmart screw foundations, which required the implementation of pre-drilling pilot holes for the screw foundation installations to be completed. The site conditions proved a challenge for pre-drilling operations, but the site team managed to stage the work such that they could work with and around the difficult terrain.
CS Energy constructed this 2.3MW Ground Mount in rugged terrain under site conditions that provided many logistical and scheduling challenges. The team completed the construction through close coordination, scheduling and management of the site civil and mechanical installation contractors to bring the project to completion on time. The project required the interconnection of the facility approximately 1500LF on the North side of the site, so CS Energy implemented directional drilling techniques to feed the MV cables from the PV array to the Point of Interconnection. Almost 1300LF of directional drilling was performed, to include conduit and wiring installation underneath rugged terrain and neighboring wetland regions. Through this process of directional drilling, the project could be Interconnected at the designated location with the local utility.
Despite the challenging site conditions, CS Energy was able to manage the construction of this project on time.
