Even though the East Flemington project is the first standalone project for CS Energy in the state of New Jersey, the mechanical completion was achieved two weeks ahead of schedule.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Ormat, a leading renewable energy provider, contracted CS Energy to provide construction services for a stand-alone energy storage project in East Flemington, New Jersey.
The East Flemington project included six (6) 45’x12” enclosure pads, thirty-six 30” diameter x 10’ deep concrete piers to support the six inverters, 200’ overhead gen-tie line for interconnection. The owner, Ormat, provided switchgear, transformer, SMA skid inverters, Sabre battery storage enclosures and a total of ~2,900 Samsung lithium-ion batteries which were individually installed into the six enclosures.
The township required the installation of a 15’ high Connecticut DOT soundwall around the site’s perimeter in part due to the proximity of a housing developments to the site.
Due to limited access around the site, crane operations to pick and set the 40’ long battery storage units and 20’ inverters skids required close coordination with our electric and civil trades along with the crane operator & CS Energy safety team to insure a safe and efficient installation.
Despite numerous design changes and equipment delivery delays, mechanical completion was achieved two weeks ahead of schedule.
