“CS Energy has an extensive track record of building high quality solar facilities and has proven to be a strong partner for NJRCEV.” - Robert Pohlman, Chief of Staff, NJR Clean Energy Ventures.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

CS Energy was contracted by NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV) to design, procure and install six projects totaling 64 MW of ground mounted and ballasted arrays in New Jersey over two years.

NJRCEV, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, invests in, owns and operates residential and commercial solar projects and currently maintains a portfolio of over 250MWs throughout New Jersey.

The NJR portfolio awarded to CS Energy consists of six ground mounted arrays ranging in size from 9 MW to 15 MW that were constructed between 2018 and 2020. The portfolio of projects is owned and operated by NJRCEV with power being sold to the grid. This portfolio is a major contributing factor to achieving New Jersey’s aggressive clean energy policies.

Each project has its own unique challenges which CS Energy successfully overcame. Prior to the installation of one of the projects, CS Energy had to clear 31 acres of land and import 22,000 cubic yards of clean fill. The clean fill was used to “cap” the brownfield site, which was previously used as a brick manufacturing facility. At another project, CS Energy had to design the system to be compatible with a capped fly-ash area which required a combination of pile driven and ballasted racking systems to ensure the fly-ash area was not disturbed.

NJR is a repeat customer of CS Energy. Repeat customers account for more than 50% of CS Energy’s business. CS Energy’s ability to optimize the design of the systems, solve problems, and deliver project on-time and on-budget has enabled us to build long-lasting partnerships with our customers.
